“A mighty pain to love it is, and ’tis a pain that pain to miss; but of all the pains, the greatest pain is to love, but love in vain.” – Abraham Cowley

Diminishing Returns

June 24, 2009

The point is not being able to reproduce a piece, or capable to remake or redo what’s been done. The key is to be able to come up with it; to be the first one to do it, the first to come up with the wheel, to first to pen the melody, the first to walk on the moon.

There’s little value otherwise, intrinsically or not.

Life Goes On

June 16, 2009

I’ve only been back for about a week, and Lynda’s already married. Sheesh. :p What do you know? Life does go on. :)

And this year’s best friend’s wedding rally has officially begun. Wheee..

One down, um.. about one two three.. what’s after three?

Timing is Everything

May 16, 2009

In about four hours time, I’ll be flying off to India. Whew.

After weeks of anticipation, here comes the real thing. In all honesty, this can’t come at an even worse timing (in a way). The AFF built up some momentum for me, and here I am flying off. Huhu.. O well.

I feel worse about leaving right before moving out. Sorry Etta, Koko.. that you have to put up with my stuff too. Sigh. But I guess there’s little I could do. It’s amazing that I actually managed to pack all my stuff in one night. Couldn’t have done it without them.

So.. am I right to be expecting a lot from this trip? Hurhurhur..

ps. If I’m not making any sense with the sentences.. that’s because I haven’t had any sleep. I don’t know what I’m writing. haha.. Just wanted to say.. I’ll be away for a while.. and here it goes aagainnnn! whee..

yeap.. will definitely have withdrawal syndrome.

ps. Lovveeee vivien westwood..

Elliot, out.

phew

woot. Finally found a place. Not exactly cheap, but it’ll do for the coming year. that s one thing off my mind.

And AFF ends today. Hmm.. Wonder if I’ll have withdrawal syndromes. Heh

Fair Feathered

May 10, 2009

Amazing.

With an ending aptly named ‘The White Finale’, I haven’t seen a runway show as fun (not that I’ve seen a lot) as Dr. G’s. It’s one thing to see celebrities walking in out of nowhere, and it’s a whole different thing to see them with feathers out of nowhere. Hahaha.. :P Oops. Well it was amusing.

Dr. Georgia Lee is definitely an amusing person. I attest to that after spending a whole day with her along with the msn team. You can check out the pics and interviews at the msn lifestyle page if you want to. Then you’ll see the main person of  today’s runway show, featuring an opera singer, a cello soloist, and oh.. a pillow fight. Yess.. fair feather rain was just one part. We also had models modelling as photographers taking pictures of photographers taking pictures of them taking pictures, as if that was not confusing enough. Hah.

All was good fun. :)

Which was what I needed. Something uplifting since I’ve been feeling a little .. -sigh-.. with just seven days to the expedition. I do wonder what I’m getting myself into sometimes. There are still so many things to settle on my end. Okay okay. Jia you..

Hah. I’m in a productive mood too. :) Whee..

The Audi Fashion Festival. is. just. absolutely.

Fabb..  just Fab, dahling..

Last night was the opening show, and just to keep you all updated I’m working with MSN to bring you Ta-Da updated from day to day with this festival. And the glam, baby, the glam. Haha. I have to say it’s really fun and such an adrenaline rush. It’s my first time working with a news and report team, and they’re really fun to be with. And the way we all have to be on our toes just in case the next celebrity or socialite or designer comes in or might be ready for an interview. Everything is turning out just the way I imagined it to be. Well that’s day one though. Four more to go.

On a side note, it’s such an eye opener; the festival, the dresses, the people moving out and about, and the photographers. I’m really dumbfounded. And on Lacroix’ pieces, they’re colorful as always and I think he went for this central asian feel – like China, but mostly India. You could check out the link above and once they’ve updated the gallery you could see it for yourself.

Glam baby.. Glam..

Back

May 6, 2009

I’m bacck.. Gosh that was fun. Tiring; more than I expected, but more fun as well. Anyway, I’m also back at re-reading old posts. In fact, if I think about it.. Here I am rambling again. Wow. I havent rambled so much in a long time. I mean a really long time.

Must be something I ate. Gosh.
